RV Resort General Manager – Ruskin, Florida

Location: Ruskin, Florida

Job Summary

Summit REH is seeking an experienced, hands-on RV Resort General Manager to lead our 55+ RV resort in Ruskin, Florida.

We are looking for a hospitality leader who is passionate about the RV resort industry, understands that successful resort management requires being highly visible and engaged, and is willing to put in the time and effort necessary to drive the property’s success.

The General Manager is responsible for the overall operations, financial performance, guest and resident satisfaction, curb appeal, team leadership, marketing, leasing, sales, activities, and continued profitability of the resort.

This is not a position for someone who wants to manage primarily from an office. The ideal candidate enjoys being part of the guest experience, walking the property, interacting with residents, supporting the team, identifying opportunities for improvement, and being actively involved in the resort community.

Key Responsibilities

Provide exceptional service and create a welcoming experience for guests and residents.
Build, develop, and lead a strong, accountable resort team.
Maintain a highly visible presence throughout the resort and regularly inspect the property for curb appeal, cleanliness, maintenance, and operational needs.
Be actively involved in planning, promoting, and hosting guest activities, events, and community functions that increase resident engagement and create a fun resort atmosphere.
Manage resident and guest concerns professionally and in a timely manner.
Oversee rent collection, posting, deposits, delinquencies, bad debt, and collection procedures.
Review residency applications and ensure established policies and procedures are followed.
Enforce resort Rules and Regulations consistently and professionally.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, including Fair Housing regulations and applicable employment laws.
Maintain Summit's standards for safety, property appearance, and overall resort operations.
Recruit, train, develop, schedule, and hold team members accountable for performance.
Ensure maintenance, housekeeping, office, and grounds responsibilities are properly assigned and completed.
Monitor, code, and approve invoices and oversee petty cash and resort activity accounts.
Oversee the balancing and reporting of RV and resort income and ensure deposits and financial reporting are completed accurately.
Assist with marketing strategies, promotions, advertising, and outreach designed to increase occupancy and revenue.
Participate in leasing and the marketing and sale of new, pre-owned, and brokered homes where applicable.
Identify and prepare sites for new homes and coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure sites are ready for move-ins.
Assist the Regional Vice President with preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.
Review monthly financial statements, occupancy, revenue, expenses, and other key operating metrics.
Prepare detailed explanations of monthly P&L variances and develop action plans to improve performance.
Identify opportunities to increase occupancy, control expenses, improve guest satisfaction, and strengthen overall profitability.
Report significant operational concerns or deficiencies to the Regional Vice President.
Be available to respond to resort needs outside normal business hours when necessary, including weekends and special events.

Is organized, dependable, energetic, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 2 years of property management or resort management experience.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
Previous sales and leasing experience preferred.
Experience with Yardi Breeze and Newbook preferred.
General knowledge of property maintenance and resort operations.
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles, budgeting, and P&L management.
Strong communication, negotiation, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of applicable Fair Housing and employment laws.
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, email, and internet-based systems.
Flexibility to respond to resort needs during evenings, weekends, holidays, and other non-business hours when necessary.
Ability to live on-site within the resort if applicable; housing may be provided.
Valid driver's license required.
