Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are a growing property management company seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant and Human Resources Coordinator. This role supports accounting, payroll, recordkeeping, benefits administration, and HR functions for multiple entities. The ideal candidate is organized, discreet, and comfortable managing both financial and employee-related information in a small-business environment.

Key Accounting Responsibilities

· Process accounts payable, vendor invoices, payments, and related records.

· Reconcile bank, credit card, investment, general ledger, and balance sheet accounts.

· Assist with audit preparation, internal controls, compliance procedures, financial statements, reports, and budgets.

· Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales and Business Central.

· Coordinate real estate tax payments and track TIF-eligible expenses and village reimbursements.

Key Human Resources Responsibilities

· Process weekly payroll and support onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, attendance tracking, and maintain employee records.

· Assist with HR policies, employee relations, labor law compliance, internal communications, and confidential records.

· Review company benefits and insurance needs annually and coordinate recommendations with leadership.

· Manage vacation rental property scheduling for private family use.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.

· At least 3–5 years of related work experience, including accounts payable, reconciliations, general ledger accounting, payroll, and basic HR responsibilities.

· Strong knowledge of accounting concepts, including debits and credits, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales, Business Central, and Excel preferred.

· Strong attention to detail, organization, discretion, analytical ability, and communication skills.

· Knowledge of union benefits administration and labor law compliance is a plus.
