Corning Incorporated is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team.
Purpose of Position:
This role supports research and development projects by fabricating and assembling prototype parts and equipment with precision and efficiency.
Required Skills/Experience/Education:
Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required.
4 years of applicable machine shop experience or military equivalent, or Journeyman or Class “A” status.
OR Minimum 2-year Machine Tool Technology degree.
OR Certificate in a relevant field with a minimum of 1-year experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate and/or assemble prototype parts and equipment using ideas and designs.
Set up and operate a variety of machines including: o CNC Lathes o 3 and 5-axis CNC Mills o Wire EDM o Surface Grinders o Drill Presses o Manual Lathes o Manual Mills o Straight Vertical Milling Machines.
Write and/or edit existing machine programs to produce parts that meet design specifications and company quality standards.
Use precision measuring tools to inspect finished parts for accuracy.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve machining process issues.
Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment.
Experience with Mastercam, SolidWorks, or NC programming software preferred.
5-axis machining experience is preferred. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Job Information:
A basic demonstration of skills is required.
This position operates on 2nd shift. (2-10pm).
Probationary Period: New employees will go through a 90-day probationary period.
Union Representation: Production and Maintenance employees are represented by USW Local 1000.

The starting pay for this position is $36.46 hourly rate. Compensation and benefits available for this position are dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
