Avtron Power Solutions manufactures and distributes market leading load bank solutions for mission critical applications. POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated and curious Cost Accountant/Cost Analyst to join our Finance team. This position is ideal for a recent college graduate or someone early in their career who is looking for an opportunity to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact in a manufacturing environment.

This role goes beyond traditional accounting. You will work closely with Finance, Engineering, Operations, and Process Improvement to understand how our products are made, analyze manufacturing costs, identify opportunities for improvement, and help drive informed business decisions.

We are looking for someone who enjoys asking questions, digging into data, and collaborating with people across the organization. If you are naturally curious, enjoy solving problems, and like understanding how things work

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze manufacturing costs, material usage, labor, and overhead allocations:
Labor efficiency
Machine utilization
Absorption
Scrap and yield analysis
Productivity metrics
Assist with maintaining standard costs, develop an understanding of bills of materials and cost structures.
Partner with Engineering and New Product Development to understand product changes and their financial impact.
Collaborate with Operations and Process Improvement teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve manufacturing efficiency.
Participate in assembly floor processes and Kaizen Events to gain firsthand understanding of manufacturing
Investigate cost variances and Work Order Variance to identify root causes through data analysis and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Support inventory analysis, cycle counts, root cause analysis and inventory accuracy initiatives
Assist with month-end closing activities related to inventory and manufacturing accounting:
Annual Standard Cost roll process.
Journal entries and account reconciliations.
Support for month-end and year-end close.
Internal and external audit support.
Budgeting and forecasting support.
Review reports, dashboards, and analysis that help leaders make data-driven decisions:
KPIs
Management reporting
Ad hoc financial analysis
Data visualization for decision making
Process automation and reporting improvements

· Continuously seek opportunities to improve reporting, processes, and data accuracy.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Internship or manufacturing experience is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working with numbers, data, and Microsoft Office Applications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to learn and work collaboratively across multiple departments.
Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and follow through.
Curious mindset with a desire to understand both the financial and operational sides of the business.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· This position is primarily on-site and is performed in a combination of office and manufacturing environments, with frequent presence on the shop floor. The role requires regular cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Safety, Human Resources and Leadership teams.

The manufacturing environment may involve exposure to varying noise levels, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of a production facility. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas.

While performing the essential functions of this role, the employee may be required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, lift, reach, lift and use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and computer systems. The position may requires lifting and movement consistent with job responsibilities.

The role includes presentation and communication responsibilities to executive leadership, including participation in business reviews. The employee must be able to communicate effectively and observe conditions necessary to perform essential job functions. Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
