Full Job Description

Sigma Stretch Film of Lyndhurst, NJ has an immediate opening for an HR Generalist to undertake a variety of HR administrative duties.

This position will report to and be primarily responsible for supporting the Corporate HR Manager and will have a direct working relationship with the Plant Manager and supervisory team.

The general functional areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

Onboarding/Orientation - Support the hiring process by providing information packets, reviewing company policies, gathering withholding and other payroll information, explaining benefit programs, and obtaining signatures for documents
Payroll/Time and Labor - Review time records to ensure accuracy; Submit hours for bi-weekly payroll in a timely & accurate manner
Employee Leave – Prepare documentation for and oversee FMLA, Disability and WC leave requests
Compliance Training - Assign and maintain up to date safety and harassment training
Record keeping - Maintain Employee Personal, Training, Payroll and Attendance Records, etc.
Employee Relations - Support employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship to promote a high level of employee morale
Conflict Resolution – Investigate and address employee concerns
Clerical Support – Filing, Answering Phones, Report Writing, and other administrative duties as assigned

Requirements:

BILINGUAL (FLUENT SPANISH/ENGLISH) – Must be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written form in both languages

Required to maintain strict confidentiality of company and employee data
Knowledge of Paychex payroll processing system or similar a plus
Proficient with FMLA, FLSA, HR laws and regulations
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to change priorities quickly and ability to multi-task
Ability to maintain detailed documentation on all employee related matters
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
