Position Summary
The Senior Oracle Financials Engineer provides senior-level functional and technical expertise for the University's Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP environment. Working independently under broad direction, the incumbent designs, implements, supports, and continuously improves enterprise financial solutions that enable critical business operations across the University of California. This position serves as a trusted technical advisor to Finance, Procurement, Information Technology, and business stakeholders while driving innovation through modern Oracle Cloud capabilities, automation, and AI-enabled technologies.
Key Responsibilities
30% Serves as the primary functional and technical resource for Oracle Fusion Financials, Procurement, and Supplier Portal. Provides production support for enterprise financial business processes while partnering with Finance, Procurement, and other stakeholders to analyze business requirements, recommend best practices, and design scalable Oracle Fusion Cloud solutions. Acts as the functional subject matter expert and ensures that system enhancements align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and Oracle Cloud capabilities.
30% Designs, develops, configures, tests, implements, and maintains highly complex Oracle Fusion Cloud solutions supporting Financials and Procurement. Configures workflows, approvals, security, business rules, and data access while administering Oracle Fusion SaaS environments and supporting quarterly Oracle Cloud releases. Develops reports, interfaces, integrations, and data conversion solutions using Oracle technologies including BI Publisher, OTBI, Financial Reporting Studio, APIs, SQL, FBDI, HDL, and other Oracle Cloud integration tools. Participates in system enhancements, testing activities, deployments, and production releases while ensuring the reliability, scalability, and maintainability of enterprise applications.
30% Leads the investigation and resolution of highly complex functional and technical issues affecting Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP by performing root-cause analysis, coordinating Oracle Service Requests, and implementing long-term corrective actions. Evaluates existing business processes to identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and improved user experience through Oracle Fusion AI capabilities and emerging cloud technologies. Partners with functional and technical teams to implement sustainable solutions that improve operational efficiency, system performance, and customer satisfaction.
10% Develops, maintains, and continuously improves functional and technical documentation, implementation standards, operating procedures, and knowledge management resources that support enterprise applications. Documents system configurations, business processes, technical designs, and production support activities to promote operational consistency, facilitate knowledge transfer, and support long-term maintainability of the Oracle Fusion Cloud environment.
Experience
Required Qualifications
Min 5 years of progressively responsible experience implementing, configuring, and supporting Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP in a complex enterprise environment, including participation in at least one full lifecycle implementation. Experience must include functional expertise supporting Oracle Financials and Procurement business processes.

Min 2 years of demonstrated experience developing and supporting Oracle Cloud reports, integrations, APIs, SQL, data conversion processes, and production support activities using Oracle technologies such as BI Publisher, OTBI, Financial Reporting Studio, FBDI, HDL, and related integration tools.

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
