Overview

Join our manufacturing team as a CNC Lathe Setup/Operator and become a vital contributor to precision metal machining. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathe machines to produce high-quality components. Your expertise in machining tools, blueprint reading, and CNC programming will drive efficiency and excellence in our manufacturing processes. Duties

Set up CNC lathe machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and workpieces according to detailed blueprints and specifications.
Program CNC lathes using G-code and M-code to ensure precise machining operations aligned with engineering requirements.
Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine machining parameters and tolerances.
Operate CNC lathes and manual machining tools safely and efficiently to produce parts within specified dimensions.
Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other measurement instruments for quality control.
Perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and adjust setups to optimize performance.
Inspect finished components for conformance to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards and quality specifications.
Support lean manufacturing initiatives by maintaining organized workstations and minimizing waste during production.

Skills

Proficiency in CNC G-code programming and M-code for lathe operations.
Strong ability to read mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files such as SolidWorks or other CAD software.
Knowledge of machining tools including grinders, hand tools, power tools, and tooling setups.
Mechanical aptitude with understanding of metal machining processes like turning, boring, threading, and milling.
Experience with CNC quality inspection techniques using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus for complex component fabrication.
Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances essential for precise machining.
Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately for proper setup and operation of CNC lathe equipment.
Mechanical knowledge of machine components such as spindles, chucks, tool holders, and coolant systems.
Experience with manual machining techniques as needed for troubleshooting or secondary operations.
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to improve workflow efficiency.
