Job Description

Job Summary

The Department Assistant II, Revenue Cycle provides administrative and clerical support to the Revenue Cycle department, ensuring efficient operation and contributing to the financial health of Shriners Hospitals for Children. This role involves processing various financial documents, maintaining records, and assisting with patient billing and collections.

Key Responsibilities

Maintains confidentiality of all patient information within the guidelines established by the department and hospital.
Destroys all patient information according to departmental guidelines.
Consistently removes confidential data from the computer screen and/or secures confidential data on desk(s).
Escorts and directs patients/families to appropriate areas of the hospital.
Ensures that all patients are registered timely, and according to the established guidelines adopted by the department and Medical Center.
Exhibits a courteous/friendly disposition to families/patients at all times.
Accurately verifies all demographic and insurance information on front end.
Consistently obtains all proper consent forms.
Assists in completing insurance verification and pre-registration queues when needed.
Ensures that orders received are scheduled timely and according to the established guidelines adopted by the department and hospital. Requests will be handled via email and voicemails.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED required
Computer knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

One year of scheduling/registration in a healthcare setting

The pay range for this position is $17.97 - $26.96. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
