ABOUT US

Founded in 1945, Lane Council of Governments (LCOG) is one of the oldest councils of governments. Overseen by a Board of Directors, we strive to enhance public services in Lane County and beyond. This collaborative journey includes partnerships with local governments and special districts in the fields of GIS Planning, Personnel Management, Transportation, and Senior and Disability Services. POSITION SUMMARY

DIVISION: Administrative Services
SUPERVISOR: Executive Director
UNION REPRESENTATION: Non-Union
POSITION PURPOSE: This position is responsible for the planning, implementation, managing, and running of all finance and budget activities for Lane Council of Governments (LCOG). The Director prepares a wide variety of materials; is responsible for developing the annual and revised budgets and work plans; annual internal audit, including working with external audit firm, GASB, and ACFR; monitors financial activities; presents to LCOG Board and committees; facilitates and participates in meetings; performs personnel functions; responds to inquiries; and handles other matters related to the fiscal work of LCOG.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration or related field.
Seven or more years of progressively responsible finance, accounting, budgeting, audit, or financial management experience, including significant experience in governmental or public sector finance.
At least three to five years of supervisory, management, or leadership experience in a finance, budget, accounting, or related administrative service function.
OR Any combination of demonstrated education and experience that provides the occupant with the skills, knowledge, and ability required to perform the job.

Preferred

Master's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
CPA, CPFO, CGFM, or similar public finance, accounting, or financial management certification.
Experience with governmental accounting, fund accounting, public budgeting, grants fiscal management, audit, internal controls, GASB, ACFR, cost allocation, and financial reporting.
Prior experience with Caselle Financial Systems software or other financial software systems
