Lead Residential Service ElectricianYour Skills. Your Leadership. Your Career.

Potts Electric is growing — and we're looking for a Lead Residential Service Electrician who knows their stuff and wants to be recognized for it.

This is NOT an entry-level position. We're looking for an experienced electrician who can walk into a residential service call, diagnose the problem, explain the solution to the homeowner, and get the job done right.

If you're the electrician other guys call when they can't figure something out, if you take pride in clean workmanship, and if you're ready for a company that values your experience and gives you room to grow — we want to talk to you.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

– Run residential service calls independently
– Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical problems
– Perform panel replacements, service upgrades, meter base replacements, and service changes
– Install mast assemblies, grounding systems, and whole-home surge protection
– Perform load calculations and service sizing
– Install generators, transfer switches, EV chargers, and backup power systems
– Complete work safely, professionally, and to NEC and local code requirements
– Lead residential electrical projects from start to finish
– Coordinate materials, workflow, inspections, and job completion
– Mentor apprentices and junior electricians
– Work with homeowners, utility companies, inspectors, project managers, and office staff
– Document jobs accurately with photos, notes, and company software

WE WANT SOMEONE WHO

– Has 2+ years of residential electrical experience
– Has strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
– Has hands-on experience with panel changes and service upgrades
– Understands residential electrical systems inside and out
– Knows the NEC and takes code compliance seriously
– Can work independently with minimal supervision
– Communicates confidently and professionally with homeowners
– Takes ownership of their work and follows through
– Wants to lead, teach, and help build a great team

EXPERIENCE THAT GETS YOU TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE

– Journeyman license or equivalent experience
– Generator installation
– EV charger installation
– ServiceTitan experience
– Crew leadership
– Training apprentices and junior electricians
