Job Summary
Pathway 2 Purpose Wellness & Consulting, LLC is expanding our clinical team as a staffing partner for a statewide school-based tele-mental health initiative serving K–12 students and school district employees throughout Alabama.
We are seeking qualified, compassionate mental health clinicians who are interested in providing high-quality behavioral health services in a fully virtual environment. This is an excellent opportunity for clinicians seeking flexible remote work while making a meaningful impact in Alabama schools.
Clinicians will provide individual tele-mental health counseling to students identified for Tier 3 services, as well as school employees and teachers.
Position Details
- 1099 Independent Contractor
- 100% remote
- Minimum 20 hours of availability per week
- Opportunities for up to 40 hours per week
- Student appointments are 30 minutes
- School employee and teacher appointments are 1 hour
- Primary availability is during the school day, approximately 8:00 AM–3:30 PM
- Before- and after-school availability may be available for school employees and teachers
- Evening hours may be offered if needed
- No weekends required
- Compensation: $35 per completed session for 30 minute sessions; $70 per hour
- Anticipated start: Late August 2026
Responsibilities
Clinicians will:
- Provide individual tele-mental health counseling to K–12 students and school employees
- Provide evidence-based, developmentally appropriate behavioral health interventions
- Address concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral difficulties, adjustment concerns, emotional regulation, and related mental health needs
- Complete required clinical documentation within 24 hours
- Maintain timely and accurate records within the program-provided EHR
- Collaborate with the clinical and school-based support teams as appropriate
- Follow established procedures regarding safety, crisis response, confidentiality, and mandated reporting
- Maintain professional, ethical, and culturally responsive clinical practices
What the Program Provides
Clinicians can focus primarily on providing clinical care. Program infrastructure includes:
- Client intake coordination
- Appointment scheduling through designated school personnel/program staff
- EHR system
- Telehealth infrastructure
- Documentation and compliance oversight
- Established school partnerships
- No insurance billing or collection responsibilities
Qualifications
Applicants must possess an appropriate Alabama mental health license (LPC, ALC, LMSW, LCSW, LICSW, etc.)
Ideal candidates will also have:
- Experience providing behavioral health services to children and/or adolescents
- Experience with tele-mental health services preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills
- Excellent written documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Reliable high-speed internet
- Private, professional workspace appropriate for confidential telehealth services
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening, credentialing, and onboarding requirements
Schedule
Clinicians must provide a minimum of 20 hours of weekly availability. Candidates interested in providing up to 40 hours per week are strongly encouraged to apply.
Student appointments are generally scheduled during regular school hours and are approximately 30 minutes in length. Sessions with teachers and other school employees are approximately one hour and may be offered before school, after school, or during evening hours when needed.
No weekend availability is required.
Compensation
$35 per completed session
Student sessions are generally 30 minutes in length. School employee and teacher sessions are generally one hour.
- This is an independent contractor opportunity. Contractors will receive detailed information regarding invoicing and the program's payment schedule during onboarding.
Pay: $70.00 per hour
