Full Job Description

Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Lead Packaging Associate on the closing shift and take charge of ensuring our packaging operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. In this vital role, you will be temporarily overseeing daily packaging of meals to cambros for the morning routes, lead a team of 2 other associates, and uphold strict quality and safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

We are looking for someone to cover 2 months this summer July-August, and begin training within the next two weeks, and there is flexibility to continue longer in another capacity and with a similar schedule beyond this time fram.

Your mathmatical skill, attention to detail, and organizational skills will drive the success of our evening packaging. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your supervisory skills while contributing to a high-quality production operation committed to excellence.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate the daily packaging operations during the closing shift, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time
Supervise packaging team members, providing guidance, training, and support to optimize productivity and safety
Conduct quality checks on packaged products to verify adherence to specifications and proper labeling
Maintain accurate shift documentation, including logs for production output, equipment issues, safety incidents, and inventory control
Assemble and pack customer orders, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and presentation standards.
Ensure quality of all packaged products meets company standards before shipping.
Maintain organization and flow at designated packaging, pick, and ship-out stations and guide a team of 2-3 in this organization and flow

Qualifications

Proven experience in foodservice and packaging environments with a strong understanding of time as temperature control.
Ability to lead a team effectively in English and Spanish, demonstrating strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
ServSafe certification required
1–2 years of food production supervision and packaging experience preferred.
Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-output environment.
Comfortable working in hot, frozen, and refrigerated environments.
Ability to read and follow written or verbal instructions in English or Spanish and translate expectations to the team you supervise
Commitment to maintaining cleanliness, food safety, and product integrity at all times.

Physical Demands

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

· Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

· Stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, and kneel for extended periods.

· Work in both warm and cold production environments.

· Maintain steady, well-paced mobility during shifts up to 8 ours per day.

Hours are Monday - Friday generally 11 a.m. or 12pm to 7-8pm depending on daily order volume.
