Position Parameters**
The teacher shall prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christian boys and girls to the praise and glory of God.

Administrative/Program Responsibilities
INSTRUCTIONAL
*Demonstrates competency (knowledge and skill) in planning and conducting instructional experiences for young children.
*Establishes learning objectives/outcomes consistent with individual pupil learning needs.
*Plans and develops a variety of instructional experiences appropriate to specific learning objectives.
*Conducts and implements the instructional plan.
*Uses the principles of learning to facilitate the learning of objectives.
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
*Demonstrates competency (knowledge and skill) in organizing the physical, spiritual, academic, and social aspects of the classroom.
*Selects, creates, and uses instructional materials and media appropriate to the pupils, subject matter, and the objective to be achieved.
*Organizes the physical setting of the classroom so that it contributes to learning.
*Organizes individual, small group, or large group learning experiences as appropriate to the pupils, subject matter, and outcomes desired.
*Provides a Christian classroom climate conducive to student learning.
*Helps students to develop independent work habits.
*Establishes appropriate routines and procedures.
*Recognizes and addresses conditions which may lead to disciplinary problems.
*Establishes clear parameters for student conduct and makes those expectations known.
*Responds appropriately with love and prayer to disciplinary problems when they do occur.
*Resolves discipline problems in accordance with state and federal laws, and with our scriptural based policy.
*Assists students toward self-discipline and acceptable standards of student behavior.

INVOLVEMENT WITH PARENTS AND STAFF
*Is available and open to communicating with parents and staff.
*Supports and attend parent/teacher functions.
*Attends all staff meetings, workshops, conferences, etc.

*Cooperates with the administration and director in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school.
*Keeps the director adequately informed of deficiencies and potential problem areas.

Qualifications
The teacher shall be one who has received and acknowledges Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The teacher shall be a member in good standing of an evangelical church and shall lead a godly life. He/she shall be a person of spiritual maturity with academic and leadership abilities that will allow him/her to "train up a child in the way he should go." The teacher shall subscribe to the Northshore Christian Academy Statement of Faith and reflect the purpose of the school, which is to honor Christ in every class and in every activity.
The teacher shall be one who feels called of God to the position. The teacher shall be at least 18 years of age and have a current TB (Tuberculosis) test, first aid card, CPR Card and have the HIV training or obtain them within 30 days after employment. The teacher shall have a childcare experience and must have STARS (State Training And Registry System) 30 hour certificate or have 15 college credits in Early Childhood Education or obtain them within 6 months of employment. AA Degree is preferred. Teachers must be of good character and demonstrate they have the ability to meet the needs of persons under their care. Classroom teachers must have the necessary knowledge of subject matter, organizational skills, teaching skills, the understanding of developmental stages of children of his/her classroom age, and the patience, and temperament necessary to fulfill his/her job description. *Profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and have made Him both Savior and Lord as represented in Scripture (John 14:1-27; Ephesians 2:8-22) and accepts without reservation the Statement of Faith of Northshore Christian Church and Academy. Have a history of weekly attending an evangelical church. Have a history of regular Bible study and devotions. Seeks to role-model in speech, actions, and attitude, a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ.
*Sets example of the importance of prayer, Scripture memorization and study, witnessing, and unity in Christian fellowship.
*Implements "scriptural" principles of relationships toward the students, parents, and staff.
*Follows the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, administration, and staff.
*Shows support for the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their child's education and assists them in the task.
*Encourages students to accept God's gift of salvation and grow in their understanding and knowledge of God.
*Emphasizes to students the reality of their self-worth in Christ.

*Utilizes educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth.

Physical Requirements
*While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must be able to move about the campus and buildings; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to sit or reach with hands and arms.

Evaluation/Supervision
Performance of these responsibilities will be evaluated by the Early Learning Center Principal.
