Full Job Description

Would you like to make a difference in the lives of children without having to work in the classroom? If you love math, love working with kids, and would love to join a team of passionate, fun-loving people, this position may be perfect for you.

Mathnasium is an educational franchise with over 1,100 learning centers in North America. Mathnasium of Doylestown was the first Mathnasium Learning Center in Bucks County and is an affiliate center of the ownership group that owns all the locations in Manhattan and two locations in Brooklyn. Mathnasium operates on the core belief that virtually any child can become great at math. We work with students in-person in our learning center as well as remotely through our online instruction program called Mathnasium@home.

As part of our team, you will be teaching kids to think in the ways that natural mathematical thinkers do and helping to create a warm, positive, and inspiring environment. Mathnasium staff members use top-notch curriculum materials and provide homework support in a semi-private setting (up to a 3:1 ratio). Students work through their own customized learning plans, so there is no lesson planning required.

Responsibilities:

Provide instruction to students
Assist the Educational Director in the sales process for new students
Administer student assessments and assist Educational Director in ensuring students receive the right materials at the right time
Assist the Educational Director in maintaining learning plans and communicate student progress to parents
Build rapport with parents and effectively convey the benefits of Mathnasium resulting in new student enrollment and retention.
Assist the Educational Director in mentoring a team of Instructors to deliver instruction that aligns with Mathnasium methodology and create a fun, welcoming environment.
General business operations
Participate in local marketing events, fostering collaborative relationships with local schools and organizations.

Requirements:

Exceptional math content knowledge and teaching skills through Algebra 2. Must have meaningful math tutoring experience with children between the ages of 5 and 17.
Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills
Energetic, patient, and confident personality
Ability to professionally interact with students and parents
Must be available from 2pm-8pm from Mon-Thu most weeks and be willing to work occasional weekend days.
Preferred: Have an undergraduate degree or is a current College Junior or Senior studying a STEM or education-related field

Compensation:
