Full Job Description

SEQUOIA RESTAURANT | WASHINGTON, DC

Sequoia Restaurant in Washington, DC is seeking experienced, hospitality-driven Fine Dining Servers to join our front-of-house team.

We are looking for polished professionals who understand that exceptional service goes beyond simply taking orders. Our servers create memorable experiences through genuine hospitality, attention to detail, strong product knowledge, anticipation of guest needs, and confident, gracious service.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Minimum 2 years of relevant serving experience, preferably in fine dining or an upscale, high-volume restaurant
A genuine passion for hospitality and taking care of guests
Strong understanding of fine dining service standards
Excellent food and menu knowledge
Solid wine knowledge, including major varietals, regions, styles, and basic food-and-wine pairing
Strong knowledge of spirits, cocktails, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages
Ability to confidently describe dishes and beverages and make thoughtful recommendations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Warm, polished, professional presence
Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate guest needs
Ability to read a table and adapt the style and pace of service accordingly
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining composure and service standards
Strong teamwork and communication with fellow servers, support staff, bartenders, management, and the culinary team
Commitment to cleanliness, organization, preparation, and professionalism
Reliable, punctual, positive, and accountable
A desire to continually improve your knowledge of food, wine, beverages, and hospitality
