Soldier Mountain Ski Area is looking for an experienced, energetic, and dependable
Seasonal Kitchen Manager to lead our food service team during the winter season. If
you’re passionate about great food, enjoy leading a team, and want to spend your
winter at a ski resort, this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss.
We’re also interested in experienced Lead Cooks, Sous Chefs, and Chefs who are
ready to take the next step into a management role.
As our Seasonal Kitchen Manager, you’ll oversee daily kitchen operations, help create
an exceptional dining experience for our guests, and play an important role in the
success of our mountain lodge.
Best of all, you’ll receive a FREE season ski pass, and when business is slow, you’ll
have the opportunity to enjoy the mountain yourself.
Responsibilities
- Manage all daily kitchen operations
- Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff
- Prepare and serve high-quality food in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and health standards
- Monitor inventory and assist with ordering food and supplies
- Control food costs and minimize waste
- Create efficient kitchen workflows
- Work closely with lodge management to provide an outstanding guest experience
Schedule
- Full-time seasonal position
- Season runs November through the end of March Primary work schedule is Thursday through Sunday
- Some weekday hours will be required for preparation, inventory, ordering, and
special events
- Must be available weekends and holidays during the ski season
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Lead Cook, Sous Chef, Chef,
Restaurant Manager, or in a similar kitchen leadership role
- Leadership experience is preferred, but we welcome applicants who are ready to
grow into a management position
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Dependable, organized, and self-motivated
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
Compensation & Benefits
- $20–$25 per hour, based on experience
