Established in 1958 as the North Essex Child Guidance Clinic, Northwest Essex Community Healthcare Network, Inc. Since that time, we have grown into an agency offering a comprehensive range of services, which include Outpatient Treatment, Co-Occurring Treatment, Addiction and Partial Care, Case Management and Crisis Services. Northwest Essex is also one of seven “Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics” (CCBHC) selected by the N.J. Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

We are seeking individuals to join our team who are passionate about helping us achieve our mission todeliver excellent behavioral healthcare through counseling, rehabilitation and education; to provide training for people with disabilities; and to improve the quality of life for those in need.

POSITION SUMMARY: Northwest Essex is looking for a dedicated clinician who is able to work within our outpatient substance use disorder program with clients living with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder conditions. The Clinician will facilitate individual, group, and family counseling. The ideal candidate will be someone who is able to function as an independent healthcare provider who, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team, can provide diagnostic assessment and treatment to support our consumers and their families.

This position will be responsible for the following:
Performing assessments to evaluate a variety of mental health and substance use disorder conditions
Developing an individualized, integrated treatment plan to meet the holistic needs of each consumer using appropriate diagnostic criteria
Coordinating client care with other members of the multidisciplinary team, as well as other providers like primary care
Maintaining progress notes and other documentation required for the client’s medical record
Using outcome tools to determine patient progress, updating the consumer’s treatment plan as their needs and goals evolve
Maintaining client confidentiality as part of all activities, complying with HIPPA and other privacy regulations.
