Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing essential administrative tasks. Your energetic approach will help streamline daily operations, coordinate appointments, and facilitate effective communication between patients and medical staff. Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors warmly, creating a positive first impression of the practice
Schedule appointments accurately using scheduling management software, accommodating patient needs and provider availability
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, verifying insurance information and updating electronic health records (EHR) with precision
Handle incoming phone calls professionally, addressing inquiries about referrals, appointments, billing, or medical services
Assist with data entry tasks related to patient records, insurance claims, and billing information
Facilitate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies through internal messaging systems and direct correspondence
Support revenue cycle management activities by processing insurance third-party billing and verifying coverage details

Skills

Proven administrative experience within healthcare settings, demonstrating familiarity with medical workflows and terminology
Proficiency with electronic medical records systems
Knowledge of health insurance processes including managed care plans, claims submission, and reimbursement procedures
Strong schedule management skills to coordinate multiple appointments efficiently
Excellent internal communication skills to collaborate effectively with medical staff and other departments
Accurate data entry skills with a focus on maintaining detailed electronic health records (EHR)
Exceptional customer service abilities to handle patient interactions with professionalism and empathy
Phone communication skills for clear and courteous interaction with patients and providers
Understanding of insurance third-party billing procedures to ensure timely reimbursements
Writing skills for composing professional correspondence and documentation
Ability to manage the revenue cycle from patient registration through billing follow-up effectively
