Full Job Description

Goldberg Law Group, PC, is hiring an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal/Case Manager to manage cases from intake through resolution in our New Bedford office. This is a high-ownership role for someone who thrives working independently while collaborating with a remote legal team.

We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal/Case Manager to join our team and head-up our New Bedford office. As a Paralegal/Case Manager you must be highly organized and able to work on a varied caseload. You will assist the attorneys in case development, settlements, preparing documents and correspondence as needed, and maintaining consistent client communications. The ideal candidate is client focused, empathetic, has a working knowledge of Civil Procedure, and is comfortable and confident being the primary in-office point of contact.

Responsibilities:

Daily interaction with existing and potential clients, via telephone and in-person.
Order medical records and bills from providers and communicate with clients and providers during the course of treatment.
Obtain documents necessary to support injury and/or liability positions.
Interact with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure records and account balances.
Notify lien holders as required and maintain updated lien amounts.
Work directly with attorneys and team members, both remotely and in-person, in the management and support of case files.
Maintain organized case files.
Prepare thorough demand letters and assemble exhibit/support packages for submission to insurance carriers under the direct supervision of an attorney and case manager supervisor.
Interact with attorneys and provide case updates when required and/or necessary.
Manage case files from intake to closing/resolution under the direction of an attorney and the case manager supervisor.
Prepare files for litigation, drafting complaint packages under the direction of an attorney, as well as other necessary procedural documents.
Monitor court dockets, keeping the attorney’s calendars updated accordingly.
Prepare service packages and follow through to ensure appropriate parties are served and returns of service are filed timely.
Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certificate (Bachelor’s preferred)
2+ years personal injury experience required
Proven ability to manage cases independently
Strong knowledge of medical records and billing
Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
Extensive computer and database expertise, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe and no less than 40 wpm
Experience with Filevine or similar case software
Excellent written and verbal communication
Comfortable working as primary in-office team member

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
