Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Dishwasher to join our dynamic kitchen team. In this vital role, you will ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment, creating a safe and efficient environment for food preparation and service. Your enthusiasm for maintaining high standards of hygiene and your ability to work swiftly will contribute to the smooth operation of our restaurant or catering facility. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop foundational kitchen skills while supporting a vibrant culinary team.

Responsibilities

Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures.
Sort and organize clean items for proper storage or immediate use in food preparation areas.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks when needed, including ingredient handling and prep work under supervision.
Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas.
Follow strict sanitation protocols to ensure compliance with kitchen health and safety standards.
Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, trays, and dish racks safely while adhering to proper lifting techniques.
Maintain the overall cleanliness of the kitchen environment by regularly sanitizing work surfaces and equipment.

Skills

Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures.
Experience with food handling, food service operations, or restaurant environments is preferred.
Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and basic cleaning tools efficiently.
Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on heavy lifting and safe movement of bulky items.
Familiarity with kitchen health and safety standards to prevent accidents or contamination.
Basic knife skills for assisting with food prep when required.
Previous banquet or catering experience is a plus but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is essential.
