Job Title: Overnight Hospice Nurse (RN) | 7 On / 7 Off

Compensation: $90,000-$130,000 per year + Mileage Reimbursement

Schedule: 7 Days On / 7 Days Off | 5:00 PM-8:00 AM

For seven nights, you're the nurse patients and families know they can depend on.

When symptoms change, you assess.

When a family is worried, you provide answers.

When something needs intervention, you determine what happens next.

Then your rotation ends.

And for the next seven consecutive days, you're off.

Superior Hospice is looking for an experienced RN to provide evening and overnight hospice care throughout the Southern Greater Twin Cities Metro Area.

This position combines the clinical independence experienced nurses want with a schedule that's difficult to find in traditional nursing.

After Hours, Experience Matters.

A patient's breathing changes at midnight.

Pain suddenly isn't controlled.

A caregiver calls because their loved one seems different.

A facility needs clinical direction.

There isn't always an obvious answer.

That's why we're looking for an experienced RN who can assess the situation, establish priorities, and make sound clinical decisions.

Some situations may require education and reassurance.

Others require an in-person visit.

And occasionally, you'll need to recognize that something requires immediate escalation.

Knowing the difference is where your experience matters.

What You'll Do

Provide evening and overnight hospice nursing support.
Respond to changes in condition and after-hours clinical needs.
Make skilled nursing visits when appropriate.
Assess and manage pain, dyspnea, agitation, anxiety, wounds, nausea, and other symptoms.
Evaluate medications and comfort-focused interventions.
Educate patients and families about symptoms, medications, and what to expect.
Coordinate with physicians, facilities, pharmacies, and the interdisciplinary team.
Provide care in private homes, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing settings.
Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.

You've Built the Experience. Bring It With You.

Hospice experience is valuable, but exceptional after-hours nurses come from many clinical backgrounds.

We're interested in experienced RNs from:

Hospice or Palliative Care.
ICU / Critical Care.
Emergency Nursing.
Oncology.
Home Health.
Med/Surg.
Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care.
Assisted Living / Memory Care.

If your experience has taught you how to recognize subtle changes, prioritize quickly, communicate with families, and stay composed when a situation changes, we'd like to talk.

What We're Looking For

Active Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Strong clinical nursing experience.
Excellent assessment and critical-thinking abilities.
Confidence working independently after hours.
Ability to remain calm during urgent or changing situations.
Strong patient and family communication.
Excellent organization and documentation skills.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to travel throughout the Southern Greater Twin Cities Metro Area.
Hospice experience preferred, but strong transferable experience considered.

Seven Nights of Responsibility. Seven Days That Are Yours.

This isn't an overnight position where you're simply watching the clock until the daytime team arrives.

Patients and families will depend on you.

You'll make decisions.

You'll solve problems.

You'll provide comfort.

You'll be the experienced clinical presence someone needs during one of the most difficult moments of their life.

And when your seven-night rotation ends, you get seven consecutive days to completely step away from work.
