Full Job Description

TITLE: Grants / Instructional Materials and Resources Facilitator

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree Preferred. Experience in writing grants and for publication. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must possess well-developed research skills. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with teams of school system officials and with community representatives. Experience in developing resources through grants and community support. Experience in coordinating grant-seeking and grant-writing initiatives.

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Academic & Instructional Systems

JOB GOAL: To coordinate the development of financial resources for the Cumberland County Schools through grants and community support. Provide leadership in the development, implementation, management, monitoring, and evaluation of the district’s instructional materials and resources including print and digital content.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates grant-seeking and grant-writing services for Cumberland County Schools.

Serves in a consultative role to other staff members on grant seeking and grant writing.

Advises school grant managers on compliance issues.

Actively seeks grant opportunities and maintains a centralized process for grant-seeking.

Initiates opportunities for securing financial support from community agencies and businesses.

Ensures the appropriate administrators are properly informed of all grant proposals and that necessary administrative/board approval is obtained.

Attends and leads grant-awareness workshops and secures necessary applications for writing local, state and federal government, and foundation grant proposals.

Instructional Materials and Resources Management:

Supports efforts for improvements in the seamless integration of core content with digital content and proactively seeks digital content resources; stays on the forefront of the newest informational and instructional technology.

Advocates for the adoption and use of digital curriculum and supports vetting processes for selecting digital and print content.

Carries out the ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of the system’s instructional materials and resources program.

Maintains accurate, up-to-date, efficient records of textbooks and resources, as well as of requests, orders, and deliveries to schools.

Ensures the timely ordering, process, and delivery of materials to schools.

Budget/Fiscal Management:

Maintains accountability for system-wide instructional materials and resources including the current print (textbook) inventory as well as digital resources.

Prepares budgets, coordinates with other departments, and maintains accurate records/reports/inventories in accordance with local/state/federal policies.

Serves as a team member and/or lead consultant in the development of grant proposals and disseminates information on grant opportunities to staff.

Demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits

organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer-driven, and valuing fairness.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Must be able to perform sedentary work, exerting a negligible amount of force frequently to

move an object.

Must possess visual acuity to prepare documents, operate a computer, and do extensive research and reading.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required.

Must possess a North Carolina Driver's License, be able to travel in personal vehicle for business purposes; must be able to work a flexible schedule, sometimes exceeding 40 hours per week.
