Assistant Manager
We are is looking for an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Assistant Manager to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who loves working with animals, enjoys working with people, and has the leadership skills needed to help keep a busy pet-care facility running smoothly.
The Assistant Manager will work in both the front office and kennel areas, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable interacting with customers as well as providing hands-on care for pets. Weekends are mandatory.
Qualifications
- Previous management or supervisory experience is required
- Previous experience in a kennel, boarding facility, veterinary office, animal hospital, daycare, or similar animal-care environment is required
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable working directly with dogs and other pets
- Dependable, organized, and able to handle multiple responsibilities
- Able to lead employees and work effectively as part of a team
- Comfortable handling difficult or sensitive customer situations professionally
- Willing to work hands-on wherever needed
- Able to maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment
Responsibilities
Front Office
- Greet customers and provide excellent customer service
- Answer phones and assist with reservations, questions, and customer concerns
- Check pets in and out
- Maintain accurate customer and pet information
- Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding their pets' stays and care
- Assist with scheduling and daily front-office operations
Kennel & Pet Care
- Assist with feeding, watering, walking, and general care of boarding pets
- Monitor pets for changes in behavior, health, or well-being
- Help maintain clean and sanitary kennels and common areas
- Follow feeding, medication, and special-care instructions
- Ensure pets are handled safely and compassionately
- Step in and assist kennel staff during busy periods
Management
- Help supervise and support front-office and kennel employees
- Assist with employee training and maintaining workplace standards
- Help organize daily workloads and ensure responsibilities are completed
- Address customer and employee concerns professionally
- Help maintain a positive, efficient, team-oriented workplace
- Assist the Manager with the overall day-to-day operation of The Pet Resort
What We're Looking For
We need someone who is reliable, professional, hardworking, and not afraid to jump in wherever needed. The right person should be just as comfortable helping a customer at the front desk as they are working in the kennel.
This is a leadership position, but it is also a hands-on position. We are looking for someone who leads by example, communicates well with both customers and employees, and genuinely cares about providing excellent care for every pet that stays with us.

Pay: $12.00 - $17.00 per hour
