Full Job Description

Goddard Preschool is a joyful, play‑based early learning community where children, families, and educators feel supported and valued. We’re looking for a versatile, upbeat Administrative Assistant & Floater who is organized, creative, and excited to support both the front office and the classroom. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, loves children, and has a knack for crafting and social media. This job reports into School Directors.

Administrative & Front Office Responsibilities

Support the School Directors and Owners with daily administrative tasks
Greet families, children, and visitors with warmth and professionalism
Manage phones, emails, and general communication
Assist with enrollment, tours, and family onboarding
Maintain student files, attendance records, and licensing documentation
Help coordinate staff schedules, meetings, and internal communication
Support billing, tuition tracking, and other office tasks as needed
Handle data entry, filing, and record-keeping using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other office management tools, as directed by Directors
Maintain calendars for school events, meetings, and appointments through effective calendar management.
Support administrative functions such as, managing correspondence, and preparing reports.
Coordinate office supplies inventory and ensure the office environment remains organized and welcoming

Floater Classroom Responsibilities

Step into classrooms as needed to support teachers and maintain ratios
Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and supervision
Build positive relationships with children and staff across all age groups
Provide coverage during breaks, planning time, or staff absences

Creative, Event & Social Media Support

Help design and prepare art projects, decorations, and displays for school events
Assist with crafting materials for classrooms and seasonal celebrations
Create visually appealing content for school social media platforms (photos, captions, simple graphics)
Collaborate with Directors to highlight school culture, events, and classroom moments
Bring creativity and enthusiasm to projects that enhance the school’s community presence

Strong communication and customer‑service skills
Excellent organization and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and shift smoothly between office, classroom, and creative tasks
Comfort with basic computer systems, social media, and office software
Crafty, creative, and excited to help with hands‑on projects
A team‑oriented mindset and a genuine love for early childhood environments
Prior administrative, childcare, or social media experience is a plus

Qualifications

Proven office management or administrative experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably within educational or childcare settings.
DCYF MERIT Account with Complete Background Check
30 Star hours training completed
All Childcare certifications completed prior to joining
Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and data entry skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
Exceptional customer service skills complemented by professional phone etiquette and clear communication abilities.
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to support diverse families and staff members.

Knowledge of office equipment including multi-line phone systems, photocopiers, and fax machines; experience with medical or dental receptionist duties is a plus.
