Job Summary

3rd shift workers and 2nd shift workers
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Resident Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to residents in a long-term care or assisted living environment. In this vital role, you will serve as a caring companion, ensuring residents’ safety, comfort, and well-being while fostering a warm and engaging community atmosphere. Your dedication will help residents maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life through personalized assistance and attentive care.

Duties

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
Provide medication administration under supervision or as trained, following proper protocols for safety and accuracy
Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care strategies to promote safety and engagement
Help with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and ensuring proper nutrition for residents with special dietary needs
Use EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems to document care activities accurately and maintain detailed resident records
Support residents during outings or appointments by driving or accompanying them as needed

Requirements

Prior experience in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
Knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency response protocols
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general is advantageous
Ability to perform light cleaning duties to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members
