Whitetail Habitat Specialist
Company: Whitetail Hill

Type: Full-time

About Whitetail Hill
Whitetail Hill is a direct-to-consumer hunting and land management brand built by hunters, for hunters. We help landowners and deer hunters grow better food plots, improve their habitat, and kill better bucks — through premium food plot seed, minerals, attractants, and hybrid chestnut and mast trees. With tens of thousands of customers and a fast-growing community, we've earned a reputation for products that actually work and advice people can trust.
We're not a call center. We're a team of people who love the dirt, the deer, and the work that happens in the offseason. As we grow, we're looking for someone who lives and breathes food plots and habitat to raise the bar on the expertise our customers count on.
The Role
We're hiring a Whitetail Habitat Specialist to be an expert voice at Whitetail Hill. You'll spend most of your time helping customers over the phone, email, and chat — but this is not just order-taking. You'll be consulting: reading a customer's soil situation, their region, their goals, and their hunting setup, then guiding them to the right seed blend, planting plan, mineral program, or mast trees to get results.
You'll also help the rest of our customer service team level up, represent the brand at tradeshows, and appear on camera in our educational and social media content. If you're the person friends and family already call before they put a plot in the ground, this job was built for you.
What You'll Do
- Consult and sell over the phone. Guide customers through plot planning, seed selection, planting windows, soil prep, minerals, attractants, and mast tree decisions — and help them build the right order across both our seed and chestnut stores.
- Deliver expert customer support. Handle inbound questions across phone, email, and chat with genuine knowledge and patience, turning every interaction into a better outcome for the customer and the brand.
- Raise the team's expertise. Train and mentor our customer service team, build reference materials and answer guides, and be the go-to resource when questions get technical.
- Represent us at tradeshows and events. Work the booth, run demos and conversations, and drive in-person sales during our busy season (roughly July through November).
- Be on camera. Appear in social media content, Reels, and educational videos — answering common questions, walking through food plot and habitat topics, and putting a knowledgeable, likable face on the brand.
- Close the loop. Bring customer questions, objections, and field feedback back to our product, marketing, and operations teams to make our products and content better.
Who You Are
Required
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of food plots and whitetail habitat management: soil testing and prep, seed selection and blends, planting timing by region, minerals and attractants, and general deer and habitat strategy.
- A strong communicator who can explain technical concepts simply and make people feel confident — especially over the phone.
- Comfortable and natural on camera; willing to be featured in our content.
- Customer-first, patient, and genuinely enjoys helping people succeed.
- Coachable on tools and systems (CRM, phone system, Shopify, help desk software).
- Able to travel for tradeshows during peak season.
- Organized, reliable, and self-directed.
Preferred (nice to have, not dealbreakers)
- Prior customer service, sales, or consultative sales experience — ideally in e-commerce or the outdoor/ag industry.
- A background in wildlife, forestry, agronomy, or land management (degree or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience creating content or appearing on camera.
- Familiarity with mast trees, chestnuts, and orchard establishment.
- You're a hunter who manages your own property — you've made the mistakes and learned the lessons firsthand.
Why You'll Want This Job
- Work with a brand that hunters actually respect, on products you'll be proud to stand behind.
- Become the recognized expert voice of a growing company — on the phone, at shows, and on screen.
- Join a tight-knit team that cares about the outdoors as much as you do.
