Overview

Join our innovative manufacturing team as a CNC Grinding Programmer and become a vital contributor to precision metalworking excellence! In this dynamic role, you will develop, optimize, and implement CNC programs specifically for grinding operations on high-precision components. Your expertise will ensure that complex geometries are achieved with impeccable accuracy, supporting our commitment to quality and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced CNC grinding equipment, including 5-axis machines, and leverage your skills in CAD/CAM software, blueprint interpretation, and precision measurement to drive manufacturing success.

Duties

Develop and write CNC programs for grinding machines using Fanuc controls, ensuring optimal tool paths for complex geometries.
Interpret detailed mechanical blueprints and schematics, applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards to meet tight tolerances.
Set up CNC grinding equipment, including tool selection, fixture setup, and calibration to ensure precise machining operations.
Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or variable programming to assist in designing tooling and verifying part geometries before programming.
Conduct precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part accuracy.
Optimize machining processes through lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve cycle times while maintaining quality standards.
Collaborate with engineering teams to review schematics and schematics for continuous process improvements and troubleshooting.
Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, inspection reports, and process adjustments for quality control purposes.

Experience

Proven experience programming CNC grinding machines with Fanuc controls in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of CNC tooling setup, geometry calculations, and machining tool selection for precision grinding applications.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar platforms used in engineering design and manufacturing.
Experience interpreting mechanical blueprints with GD&T specifications to ensure parts meet strict tolerances.
Skilled in using measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, CMMs, and other precision measurement instruments for quality assurance.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes and eliminate waste while maintaining high-quality output.
Mechanical aptitude combined with a solid understanding of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus.
Ability to read schematics and electrical diagrams relevant to CNC machinery operation.
