Lumber Estimator — Framing Pack Specialist

Full-Time | $20.00 – $25.00 per hour | In Person

About Us

We are a wood truss and lumber manufacturing company specializing in roof trusses, floor trusses, and complete framing lumber packs for residential and commercial construction. We work directly with builders and contractors to deliver accurate, competitively priced material packages that keep their projects moving. Our team is known for quality, fast turnaround, and the kind of service that keeps our customers coming back year after year.

The Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Lumber Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will take customer blueprints and construction plans and determine exactly what framing materials are needed for each project. You will then prepare accurate, competitive quotes for complete framing lumber packs — sold alongside our roof and floor truss packages — giving builders everything they need to frame a structure from a single source.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that sits at the intersection of construction knowledge, material expertise, and client service. If you enjoy working with plans, numbers, and people — and you take pride in getting the details right — this is the job for you.

What You Will Do

Review residential and blueprints and construction drawings to identify all framing material requirements
Prepare detailed and accurate lumber take-offs including dimensional lumber, headers, beams, LVL, sheathing, and related framing components
Generate complete framing pack quotes for customers in conjunction with their roof and floor truss orders
Communicate directly with builders and contractors to clarify plan details, answer questions, and deliver quotes in a timely manner
Coordinate with our sales and production teams to ensure quoted packages align with inventory and scheduling
Track and manage multiple open quotes simultaneously, following up with customers to close orders
Maintain organized records of all quotes, revisions, and completed orders
Stay current on lumber pricing, market conditions, and material specifications to ensure competitive and accurate quotes

What We Are Looking For

Required:

1 to 3 years of experience in lumber estimating, construction material take-offs, or a closely related role
Ability to read and interpret residential and commercial blueprints and construction plans
Strong math skills and exceptional attention to detail
Comfortable working with computers and standard office software
Clear, professional communication skills — both written and verbal
Ability to manage multiple quotes and customer deadlines at the same time

Preferred:

Experience in a lumber yard, truss plant, building materials supplier, or framing contractor environment
Familiarity with framing lumber species, grades, and standard sizing
Experience with estimating or take-off software such as PlanSwift or similar tools
Knowledge of roof and floor truss systems is a plus — but we are happy to teach the right candidate
