CAD Designer / Survey QA Reviewer

Job Overview

E&R Land Surveyors is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Designer with experience in land surveying to join our team. This position focuses not only on drafting survey projects but also on reviewing completed work for accuracy and quality control before delivery to clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of boundary surveys, topographic surveys, elevation certificates, plats, legal descriptions, easements, and title commitments. We are looking for someone who can identify errors, verify information against source documents, and ensure surveys meet company standards before they are finalized.

Responsibilities

Prepare and revise survey drawings using AutoCAD.
Review completed surveys for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Verify legal descriptions, bearings, distances, curve data, easements, setbacks, lot dimensions, and plat information.
Compare surveys against recorded plats, deeds, title commitments, surveys, and other supporting documents.
Identify drafting errors, omissions, and discrepancies prior to delivery.
Review Elevation Certificates for consistency with survey data and FEMA requirements.
Assist in preparing boundary surveys, mortgage surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and elevation certificates.
Coordinate with field crews and project managers to resolve discrepancies.
Maintain organized project files and documentation.
Ensure all projects meet company standards and client requirements.

Qualifications

Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Previous experience in land surveying drafting and/or survey quality control.
Ability to read and interpret plats, legal descriptions, title commitments, deeds, and survey records.
Strong understanding of easements, rights-of-way, setbacks, and boundary calculations.
Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects efficiently.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Florida surveying standards and practices.
Familiarity with FEMA flood maps and Elevation Certificates.
Experience reviewing residential and commercial survey projects.
Knowledge of title commitments and Schedule B exceptions.
