Full Job Description

What you get to do:

Enthusiastically represents the organization by displaying a positive attitude and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job
Help educate park guests, school groups, camp participants and private groups about the animals in residence
Conduct informative and engaging animal presentations on microphone, behind the scenes tours, VIP experiences, sleepovers, camp and student programs
Act as department trainer for new staff
Coordinate specialty projects, such as curriculum development, staff training, or community outreach programs
Evaluate entry level staff on interpretive skills
Prepare, organize, and maintain all education program materials for assigned areas of responsibility

What it takes to succeed:

At least 18 years old
High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.
Demonstrate high quality guest service and interpretation skills
Valid state driver’s license
Previous experience training and developing staff preferred
Able to successfully complete all legal, company, and department training requirements to include, but not limited to, passing required tests and certifications within established timelines
Available to work varying shifts/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid- and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
Able to follow all park and departmental policies and procedures

What else is important:

Able to stand and walk for an entire shift
Able to lift, push and pull 25 pounds
Able to work in all weather conditions
