Director of Lease Administration for Reputable, Dynamic Real Estate Company

Position based in South Florida Office

Role Overview

The Director of Lease Administration will oversee the management, compliance, and optimization of lease agreements across a company’s East Coast portfolio. This role is critical for ensuring legal and financial compliance, managing lease lifecycle milestones, and supporting real estate strategy and operations. He/she will ensure that leases are managed efficiently, risks are mitigated, and the portfolio performs optimally, while leading a cross-functional team to deliver results.

Key Responsibilities

Lease Administration & Compliance

Oversee abstraction of lease documents, ensuring accurate interpretation of use clauses, exclusive rights, and co-tenancy provisions.
Manage key lease dates (renewals, expirations, terminations) and critical clauses.
Ensure quality control, audit trails, and approval hierarchies in all lease processes.
Monitor and enforce landlord obligations (repairs, capital replacements, occupancy rules).
Support Estoppel Agreements and other non-lease legal/administrative functions.

Property & Portfolio Management

Coordinate with Legal, Real Estate, and Facilities to resolve disputes, recover costs, and ensure compliance.
Support property development initiatives and regulatory compliance.
Maintain accurate lease records and provide reporting to senior management.

Leadership & Team Management

Lead and develop a team of Lease Administrators, Property Administrators, and support staff.
Oversee daily operations, special projects, and cross-functional collaboration with Lease Audit, Legal, Finance, and Facilities teams.
Foster accountability, communication, and execution excellence.

Technology & Process Improvement

Administer and enhance a custom Property Development system (e.g., PDSL) with SOX-compliant controls.
Drive digital transformation by automating workflows, streamlining processes, and eliminating duplicative tasks.

Background & Experience

Education: College degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
Experience: 12+ years in Lease Administration and Property Management, preferably in a multi-family, retail or mixed-use portfolio environment.
Experience with NYC assets and lease terms is valuable.

In-Office Requirement

Hybrid work schedule.

Pay: From $175,000.00 per year
