Full Job Description

Summus Healthcare and Premier Independent Physicians are hiring 2 full-time Patient Representatives, to support our Patient Call Center in Denton, TX. This is an onsite position at our Primary Care office.

Our Patient Representatives will support our offices throughout the DFW area.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Access

Answer incoming telephone calls professionally and efficiently, following determined call maps.
Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments within assigned clinic’s policies.
Verify demographics and insurance information as needed.
Provide appointment instructions and general office information.
Assist patients with non-clinical questions.

Clinical Support

Within the Medical Assistant scope of practice and in accordance with clinician protocols, Company policy, and applicable laws:

Process medication refills.
Address appropriate clinical questions.
Obtain information for clinician review.
Document all patient interactions.
Route clinical concerns to the appropriate clinician when necessary.
Escalate urgent patient concerns immediately.
Direct patients with medical emergencies per Company policy.

Telephone Encounters

Create and document Telephone Encounters (TEs) within eClinicalWorks.
Route messages to clinicians, nurses, or appropriate staff.
Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and timely.

Scheduling

Schedule new patient and follow-up appointments.
Manage clinician schedules and templates.
Fill cancellations when appropriate.
Assist with clinician schedule optimization.

All other duties as assigned by the manager

What are we looking for?

High school diploma/GED required.
A minimum of two (2) years of medical front office experience is required.
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
Primary care experience preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Experience using Electronic Medical Record systems. (EMRs)
Experience using multi-line phone systems.
Experience scheduling.
Excellent patient service and patient relationship skills.
Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
Detail-oriented, reliable, and efficient.
Telephone triage experience preferred.
Medication refill experience preferred.
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

What are the details?

This is a full-time position.
Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Compensation starts at $17.00 per hour and is dependent on experience.
