Full Job Description

Overview:

Boutique Elder Law/Estate Planning Law Firm seeking a highly motivated Real Estate Paralegal with a strong background and broad experience.

This position supports our residential and commercial real estate practice and offers the opportunity to work alongside attorneys handling a wide variety of transactions.

Responsibilities

Prepare and coordinate residential and commercial real estate closings.
Draft and process deeds, transfer documents, and ancillary closing documents.
Prepare, review, and coordinate residential and commercial leases.
Draft, review, and assist with contracts of sale and purchase.
Review title reports and assist with clearing title issues.
Coordinate with clients, lenders, title companies, real estate agents, and attorneys throughout the transaction process.
Handle cooperative (co-op) transfers, including transfers to trusts.
Manage post-closing matters and maintain organized transaction files.

Qualifications

At least 3 years of substantive, hands-on real estate paralegal experience.
Proficient in reading title reports and clearing title.
Experience drafting and reviewing contracts of purchase, sale, and lease.
Experience drafting deeds and ancillary real estate documents.
Experience handling deed transfers and cooperative apartment transfers, including transfers to trusts.
Experience and familiarity with Probate, Trust & Estate Administration, and Estate Planning is a plus, but not required.
New York Notary Public (or ability to obtain promptly) preferred.
Proven ability to effectively manage an assigned workload and work independently with minimal supervision.
Superior drafting, research, and written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with attorneys, staff, clients, and outside professionals.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also working independently.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing demands, and consistently meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
Drive, initiative, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, LexisNexis Forms, NYSCEF, and NYS E-Courts.
