Full Job Description

Position Overview:

We are looking for a driven and adaptable HR Generalist to join our team. In this role, you will own end-to-end recruitment for our U.S. sales team and planned manufacturing facility, while also laying the groundwork for HR infrastructure to support our growing workforce. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and wants to contribute to shaping the HR function from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition

Lead full-cycle recruitment for the U.S. sales team and manufacturing facility roles, as well as other functions as business needs evolve.
Partner closely with hiring managers to understand business needs and develop targeted sourcing and selection strategies.
Build and maintain a robust talent pipeline through proactive sourcing via LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, and other relevant platforms.
Track and report key recruiting metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, quality of hire) to continuously improve efficiency and provide visibility to leadership.
Manage relationships with external staffing agencies and search firms as needed; deliver a positive candidate experience that reflects GRID’s employer brand.

Factory HR System Building

Participate in the early-stage planning and buildout of HR infrastructure for GRID’s planned U.S. manufacturing facility in NC.
Support the development of compensation structures and benefits programs for factory employees, ensuring market competitiveness and legal compliance.
Establish factory HR policies and procedures, including but not limited to employee handbook, attendance and shift management, and workplace conduct guidelines.
Build performance management and training frameworks tailored to factory roles.
Ensure compliance with applicable workplace safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, Cal/OSHA) and labor laws specific to manufacturing environments.
Assist in standardization and digitization of HR processes; support HRIS implementation and adoption across the U.S. workforce.

HR Support

Manage H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, and green card sponsorship processes including petition preparation, LCA filings, and USCIS deadline tracking
Maintain accurate and up-to-date immigration records, visa expiration tracking, and employment authorization documentation for all sponsored employees
Communicate proactively with employees and leadership on visa status, renewal timelines, and any changes in immigration policy that may affect the workforce
Support day-to-day U.S. HR operations in collaboration with the China-based HR team, including but not limited to onboarding & offboarding processes for U.S. employees, employee lifecycle processes, and compliance with federal and state labor laws.
Support performance management cycles and compensation review processes in collaboration with the China-based HR Team.

Qualifications:

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
5+ years of HR experience, at least 3 years with a strong focus on talent acquisition, including experience recruiting for sales and manufacturing roles.
Experience managing U.S. immigration and via processes (e.g., H-1B, TN, O-1, green card sponsorship).
Solid knowledge of U.S. policies, federal and state employment laws, and HR compliance requirements.
Proficient with recruitment tools and platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, ZipRecruiter).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and collaborate effectively with a remote team based in China.
Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Preferred:

Experience in the renewable energy, clean energy, or manufacturing industry.
Experience working in a global company, with an understanding of cross-cultural communication dynamics.
HR certification such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent.
Experience implementing or managing an ATS / HRIS platform is a plus.
Prior experience supporting HR system or policy buildout in a startup or greenfield environment
