Full Job Description

Overview

The Madeline Centre was founded in 1996 as an outpatient counseling office serving individuals and families in Central Virginia. A family business now in its 30th year of operation, we have treated thousands of children and adults in offices, clinics, homes, schools, and community settings. We are driven by clinicians, built around service, and committed to improving the mental and behavioral health of every person we meet.

We are currently seeking a full-time Hybrid Clinician to serve in two critical programs:

Morning: ARTS / addiction-focused programming
Afternoon: Child & Adolescent Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programming

This role is designed for a clinician who is comfortable running groups, engaging consumers and families, documenting with discipline, and bringing steady, clinically sound energy to moderate- to high-acuity work. This is not a “float” position and it is not a placeholder role. It is a core clinical position intended to help preserve and strengthen two important service lines at The Madeline Centre.

What you would do in this role

Facilitate ARTS groups and related addiction services during the morning schedule
Provide group-based clinical services in Child & Adolescent PHP/IOP during the afternoon schedule
Assist in maintaining a healthy, organized, positive, and therapeutically useful treatment environment
Coordinate care with internal treatment team members, referral sources, parents, caregivers, and other providers
Communicate clearly and consistently with families regarding consumer participation, progress, and treatment needs
Complete 100% of required documentation in a timely, accurate, and compliant fashion
Support treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, case coordination, and continuity of care
Help maintain program structure, engagement, professionalism, and clinical momentum throughout the day
Collaborate with supervisors and senior staff to maximize the effectiveness of ARTS, PHP, IOP, and related services

Who are the clients?

This clinician will work with:

Adolescents and/or adults in ARTS programming depending on assignment and census needs
Children and adolescents ages 6–17 in our clinic-based PHP/IOP programs

These are often moderate- to high-acuity consumers who benefit from strong therapeutic structure, sound clinical judgment, genuine compassion, timely communication, and excellent group facilitation.

Minimum qualifications

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualification:

Resident in Counseling in Virginia in good standing

Licensure preferred

Strong preference will be given to candidates who are:

Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC)
Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW)
Licensed Mental Health Professionals (LMHP)

Additional preferred qualifications

Strong applicants will also bring:

At least 1 year of experience in behavioral health, addiction services, or intensive clinical work
Experience providing services in individual, family, and group settings
Experience in one or more of the following:
ARTS / substance use treatment
Child & Adolescent programming
Partial Hospitalization
Intensive Outpatient
Group facilitation
Case coordination / care coordination
Interpreting clinical data such as UDS, when applicable
Strong interpersonal, engagement, and de-escalation skills
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong computer skills; experience with EHR/EMR documentation is a plus
Ability to adapt to different clinical environments while maintaining consistency and professionalism

Duties and responsibilities

The Hybrid Clinician will:

Ensure DMAS, DBHDS, and TMC policy compliance for all services rendered and records generated
Provide assigned ARTS, PHP, and/or IOP services in accordance with program expectations
Maintain timely, accurate, defensible documentation
Coordinate with supervisors, program leaders, and senior staff regarding clinical priorities and workflow
Collaborate with clinical leadership regarding therapeutic goals, interventions, and treatment planning
Support continuity of care and step-down planning with internal and external providers
Communicate with referral sources and community partners in a professional manner
Participate in scheduled meetings, trainings, supervision, and team-based problem-solving
Help maintain a positive, organized, and clinically useful environment at The Madeline Centre
Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and appropriate communication when addressing problems or opportunities
Contribute to the growth, quality, and reputation of The Madeline Centre’s programs

Schedule

Full-time
Monday through Friday
Primarily onsite in Lynchburg, Virginia
