Summary

About the Position:

The incumbent will serve as a Credentials Program Specialist, in the Department of Credentialing at ATAMMC, Ft. Belvoir, VA.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

Maintain Practitioner Credentials Files (PCF) and Provider Activity Files (PAF) for physicians and other healthcare providers.
Conduct primary source verification of all credentials, including diplomas, licenses, certifications, and training.
Process applications for clinical privileges through the CCQAS system, prepares them for committee review, and ensures all supporting documentation is complete.
Verifies that all privileged providers maintain current, valid, and unrestricted licensure and required certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS).
Serve as an authoritative source and assistant to the Commander and Credentials Committee on clinical privileging requirements, regulations, and policies
Provide guidance to hospital department chiefs on privileging requirements and assists with the annual review of privileging documents.
Serve as the action officer and liaison with the Staff Judge Advocate (SJA) for administrative procedures related to adverse privileging actions.
Coordinate with the Residency Program Director to ensure resident competency and performance are properly documented.
Research provider files to respond to information requests and reviews literature and regulations to ensure program compliance.
Serve as the site manager for the Centralized Credentials Quality Assurance System (CCQAS) database, ensuring data integrity and timely reporting.
Prepare minutes for the Credentials Committee and Provider Wellness Committee meetings.
Advise various units (Contracting, Army Reserve, National Guard) on credentialing requirements and procedures.
Maintain the strict accountability and confidentiality of all practitioner credentials files (PCF, PAF, TCF).
Prepare and dispatches correspondence to request references or verify credentials.
Utilize automated data processing systems to accomplish a wide range of clerical, statistical, and data entry/retrieval tasks in support of the program.
Serve as the Emergency Credential Leader for the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) and may be required to fulfill these duties during hospital emergencies.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position is required to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (hepatitis, influenza, etc.). unless exempted by a licensed physician.
This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 2 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience/education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) assisting in the maintenance of credentialing; 2) performing primary source verification, 3) processing applications for privileges, 4) providing administrative support; 5) assisting in monitoring compliance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources, Healthcare Management or Healthcare Administration.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
