Position Overview

MK Tax & Accounting Services is seeking a highly organized, reliable, tech-savvy Office & Marketing Assistant to support our growing tax, accounting, bookkeeping, and insurance businesses.

We are looking for someone who is quick on their feet, professional, trustworthy, detail-oriented, and comfortable wearing multiple hats. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced small-business environment and wants an opportunity to grow with the company.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media & Marketing

Manage and maintain company social media accounts, including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
Create, schedule, and publish:
Posts
Reels
Stories
Carousels
Assist with creating engaging graphics, captions, and marketing content
Maintain a consistent and professional company brand across platforms
Monitor comments and messages and route inquiries appropriately
Assist with marketing campaigns and promotional initiatives
Comfortable using or quickly learning platforms such as Canva and other social media/marketing tools

Office & Administrative Support

Answer and route incoming phone calls professionally
Respond to basic client inquiries by phone, email, and text
Schedule appointments and maintain calendars
Perform accurate and efficient data entry
Enter and update information for tax, accounting, and insurance clients
Upload, organize, scan, and maintain client documents
Follow up with clients regarding missing documents and outstanding information
Maintain organized digital and physical client files
Assist with general office correspondence and administrative projects

Accounting & Tax Support

Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting concepts is required
Assist with basic accounting-related data entry
Organize financial and tax documents
Enter client information into applicable software
Review entered information for completeness and accuracy
Assist accounting and tax staff with administrative tasks during tax season and throughout the year

Office & Executive Support

Keep common office areas clean, organized, and professional
Maintain office supplies and notify management when items need to be reordered
Prepare coffee and assist with light hospitality for staff and clients
Order lunch or meals for owners/staff when requested
Handle occasional local errands, including trips to the post office, bank, and office supply stores
Perform light personal/executive assistant duties for the owners as needed

Qualifications

Required:

Fluent in spoken and written English
Strong writing, spelling, and communication skills
Fast and accurate typing/data-entry skills
Basic accounting/bookkeeping knowledge
Strong attention to detail
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Social media savvy and comfortable creating content
Comfortable learning and using new apps, software, and technology
Ability to multitask and shift priorities quickly
Professional phone and customer-service skills
Reliable, punctual, and dependable
Ability to handle confidential client and financial information with discretion
Legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred:

Associate degree or higher
Previous experience in an accounting, tax, insurance, financial services, or professional office environment
Experience with Canva and social media scheduling/content-creation platforms
Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
Experience with CRM, tax, document-management, or insurance software
Comfortable using modern AI and productivity tools
