CodeMax Medical Billing is a specialized revenue cycle management firm exclusively serving substance abuse and behavioral health providers across the country. We are on an aggressive growth trajectory, expanding our client base and deepening our capabilities to become the preeminent RCM partner in this space. Our team is built on expertise, performance, and a relentless commitment to results — and we're looking for people who are wired the same way.

The Opportunity

We are not looking for an account manager or a relationship nurturer. We are looking for a hunter — someone who wakes up thinking about their pipeline, thrives on closing, and brings an established network of behavioral health and substance abuse facility operators to the table on day one.

This role is a direct driver of CodeMax's growth strategy. You will be targeting facility operators, C-suite executives, and administrators at substance abuse treatment centers, detox facilities, and behavioral health organizations — with a specific focus on providers operating under commercial insurance contracts, both in-network and out-of-network. If you've spent years building relationships in this space and are ready to monetize that network with a high-performance compensation structure behind you, this is your platform.

What You'll Do

Drive new client acquisition across the behavioral health and substance abuse market — prospecting, pitching, and closing deals with treatment center operators, CFOs, and executive leadership.
Leverage your existing book of business and industry relationships to generate immediate pipeline and accelerate revenue growth.
Own the full sales cycle from first contact through signed contract, collaborating with operations to ensure a smooth client transition and onboarding.
Articulate CodeMax's value proposition to facility operators navigating complex commercial insurance environments — including in-network contracting, out-of-network billing, and payer mix optimization.
Identify and pursue expansion opportunities within existing client organizations, including multi-facility groups and enterprise accounts.
Represent CodeMax at industry conferences, trade events, and association meetings to build brand visibility and develop new relationships.
Maintain accurate pipeline activity and forecasting in CRM, providing regular reporting to sales leadership on deal progression and market feedback.
Collaborate with leadership on market strategy, territory planning, and competitive positioning.

What We're Looking For

Required:

A demonstrated track record as a hunter — new business development, not just account management. Your history should show logos you've brought in, not just expanded.
An established book of business in the behavioral health and/or substance abuse treatment space. We expect you to walk in with relationships.
Deep familiarity with commercial insurance dynamics in substance abuse treatment — specifically in-network and out-of-network billing, authorization workflows, and how reimbursement strategy impacts facility revenue.
Experience selling to facility operators, CFOs, COOs, or executive directors at treatment centers, detox facilities, or behavioral health organizations.
Minimum 3–5 years of healthcare sales or business development experience, with direct exposure to the substance abuse or behavioral health sector.
A self-starter mentality — this is a field-based, remote role that requires structure, discipline, and accountability without hand-holding.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with an ability to command credibility in a room of healthcare executives.

Preferred:

Prior experience selling RCM, medical billing, or revenue cycle services to treatment facilities.
Existing relationships with multi-facility operators, private equity-backed treatment groups, or regional behavioral health networks.
Understanding of RCM performance metrics — denial rates, days in A/R, collection rates — and the ability to use those conversations as sales tools.
Familiarity with KIPU, CollaborateMD, or other behavioral health EMR/billing platforms.
Active involvement in NAATP, NAADAC, BHAP, or other behavioral health industry associations.
