Full Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alterations Tailor to support our men’s wear operations. In this role, you will focus on executing high-quality garment alterations that meet brand standards and timelines, ensuring each piece is finished with precision and consistency. This position is ideal for a tailor experienced in men’s garments who thrives in a structured, production-focused environment.

This role may require travel to various locations throughout the NY, NJ, and CT tri-state area. All approved travel costs are reimbursed, and any commute time exceeding one hour is compensated.

Responsibilities

Perform alterations on men’s garments, including hemming trousers, tapering, jacket adjustments, sleeve work, and general resizing
Execute alterations based on provided specifications and measurements
Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and attention to detail across all garments
Track workload and ensure timely completion of all alteration assignments
Communicate with team members and management regarding order status and timelines
Maintain a clean, organized workspace and properly care for all sewing equipment
Travel to different locations as needed based on business demand

Qualifications

Proven experience in garment alterations, preferably in men’s wear or tailored clothing
Strong proficiency with sewing machines and hand-finishing techniques
Experience working with suit jackets, trousers, and structured garments preferred
Familiarity with jacket construction and shoulder work is a plus, but not required
Ability to follow alteration specifications accurately and work independently
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the tri-state area (NY/NJ/CT)
Ability to stand for extended periods and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Additional Details

Travel between locations may be required based on operational needs
All approved travel expenses are reimbursed
Commute time exceeding one hour is paid

Pay: $41,600.00 - $69,554.58 per year
