Job Summary

Choctaw-Kaul Distribution Company is seeking a qualified and motivated person to join our team as a Warehouse Lead responsible for overseeing warehouse operations at Choctaw-Kaul’s Hanover, Maryland location. The Warehouse Lead is responsible for the daily execution of warehouse activities including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control, and customer order fulfillment. This is a hands-on position that works directly within the operation while coordinating with corporate warehouse management and supply chain teams. Ultimately the Warehouse Lead should be able to ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all warehouse processes are running smoothly, promptly, and safely.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Oversee receiving, shipping, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations.

· Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization.

· Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.

· Schedule and oversee warehouse team

· Manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.

· Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements.

· Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security.

· Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance when necessary.

· Manage stock control and reconcile with ERP System (SX.Enterprise).

· Liaise with clients, suppliers, and transport companies.

· Plan work routes, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results.

· Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees.

· Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock reports, etc.)

· Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.

Skills:

· Proven work experience in a leadership role in a warehouse setting.

· Cycle counting / order checking.

· Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices.

· Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.

· Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPI s).

· Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases.

· Leadership skills and ability to manage staff.

· Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policies.

· Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff.

· Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal.

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

· Must be able to stand/walk for up to 8 hours/day.

Minimum Experience and Education Requirements:

· Must have High School Diploma (minimum) and 5 years of related distribution experience, Associates Degree or higher preferred.

· Experience with large number of SKUs.

· Must be computer literate and have knowledge of spreadsheets and ERP systems.

· License to operate a forklift.

Schedule:

· Monday-Friday 8-10 hour shift

· Responsible for opening/closing warehouse

· Emergency after hours and weekend availability required as needed
