Qualifications:

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years of administrative, clerical, or office support experience.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Google Workspace, student information systems, and general office technology.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professionalism and discretion.
Ability to work effectively with students, families, staff, and community members in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.

Preferred:

Experience in a public school district or educational office environment.
Familiarity with student information systems, attendance systems, and school office procedures.

Description:

The School District of Springfield Township is seeking candidates who possess excellent interpersonal skills, the desire to work with energetic students, and the ability to relate well within the school community. SDST is committed to diversity in our workplace and welcomes the opportunity to consider all candidates. The Administrative Assistant – School Building provides clerical, administrative, and operational support to the school building administration and staff to assist with the efficient daily operation of the school. This position serves as a primary point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors while supporting communication, recordkeeping, scheduling, attendance processes, and general school office functions. The role requires professionalism, confidentiality, strong organizational skills, customer service abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced school environment.

Provides administrative and clerical support to the Building Principal, Assistant Principal, and school staff.
Serves as a primary point of contact for students, parents/guardians, staff, visitors, and community members.
Receives and responds to phone calls, emails, visitors, and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
Maintains student attendance records, absence documentation, tardy records, and related attendance processes.
Assists with student registration, enrollment, withdrawals, and student records management, as assigned.
Maintains and updates student information systems, databases, and office records accurately and efficiently.
Assists with scheduling appointments, meetings, conferences, and school events.
Prepares and distributes correspondence, reports, forms, notices, newsletters, and school communications.
Assists with maintaining student records, cumulative files, and confidential documentation in accordance with FERPA requirements.
Coordinates substitute teacher coverage, classroom communication, and operational support activities, as assigned.
Assists with processing purchase orders, invoices, field trip requests, transportation requests, and building-related operational paperwork.
Supports building operations related to student dismissals, visitor management, emergency procedures, and daily school activities.
Assists with preparation and coordination of school events, assemblies, conferences, and testing activities.
Maintains office supplies, forms, and materials necessary for school office operations.
Provides first-level assistance to students and families regarding school procedures, schedules, and operational concerns.
Maintains confidentiality of student, personnel, medical, and operational information.
Supports district and building initiatives, projects, and operational tasks, as assigned.

Terms of employment:
