The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders is a leading oncology care provider in North Texas, featuring over 60 cancer specialists and 400 healthcare professionals dedicated to innovative treatments and compassionate patient care. Our mission is to set a new standard in oncology by integrating advanced technologies and therapies while treating every patient like family.

Summary

As a Patient Coordinator at The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, you will be an essential part of our healthcare team located in North Texas. This role involves managing patient interactions and administrative tasks that contribute to our mission of providing exceptional oncology care, ensuring that every patient feels supported and valued.

Responsibilities

To provide support to all clinic team members as it relates to the new patient referral processes. Duties include but are not limited to: answering phones for all calls sent to the NPC hunt group and delegating to the assigned NPC, advising new patients that who were not referred, of the initial process (i.e. referring provider fax medical records), the coordination and accrual of all necessary medical records, initial referral authorization, work with primary care physician’s offices and new patient’s to obtain all necessary medical records, schedules new patient appointments, participates with other team members in practice to foster communication and continuing quality of patient care, cooperate with the integration of all services including front office, lab, pharmacy, nursing, other practice sites and business office. This also includes scanning and importing all new patient records from outside sources into the EMR.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Bilingual, preferred.
Must be able to communicate with patients, peers, physicians, and the general public.
Must have HS diploma or equivalent
Must have telephone communication and etiquette skills.
Must have basic computer skills, including word processing, keyboarding, and ability to learn computerized scheduling system.
Professional appearance, able to handle multiple tasks, and be a team player.
