Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting & HR Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate accounting records, and supporting human resources functions. Your energetic approach and meticulous attention to detail will ensure smooth financial operations and effective HR processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in accounting systems, payroll support, and HR administration within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Handle data entry for accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in processing invoices, payments, and collections
Reconcile general ledger accounts through balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis using accounting software
Assist with payroll time and attendance compliance with payroll regulations and confidentiality of employee information
Support budgeting activities by preparing spreadsheets and conducting Excel data analysis for financial planning purposes
Create and maintain training files
Support the HR Manager with the Safety & Environmental compliance
Maintain accurate records of journal entries and account reconciliation following GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) standards
Contribute to month-end closing processes by assisting with inventory and account reconciliation; support year end or periodic audits

Skills

Provide excellent customer service to internal teams regarding financial inquiries while handling sensitive information with discretion
Strong understanding of accounting concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation
Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems
Experience with payroll systems like ADP and familiarity with time management tools
Knowledge of accounting standards including GAAP
Ability to perform data entry efficiently with high accuracy; excellent numeracy skills and math aptitude
Skilled in Excel data analysis, spreadsheets creation, and accounting system navigation for effective account analysis
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly
Strong communication skills to support HR functions such as onboarding documentation and employee record management
