Lead CNC Machinist & Programmer

Help Build Our New 2nd Shift

Location: Oak Lawn, Illinois

Shift: 2nd Shift, 4-Day Work Week | Monday–Thursday, 3:00 p.m. – 1:30 a.m. | Overtime as needed on Fridays

You already know how to run a CNC machine. Now imagine spending the next few years building a skill set that can take your career almost anywhere.

At Meyer Tool, you won’t spend every day making the same part over and over. We are a high-mix, low-volume precision manufacturer, which means you’ll work on a wide variety of challenging parts and learn something new on nearly every job.

One week, you might be machining components for a national laboratory. The next, you’re working on cryogenic equipment, vacuum chambers, accelerator components, or parts supporting quantum and advanced technology applications.

The result? You don’t just become good at running one machine. You build a broad foundation in CNC machining, setups, programming, inspection, problem-solving, and precision manufacturing that can set up the rest of your career.

And because we’re a small, growing company, you’ll have opportunities to take on more responsibility as your skills develop.

The Schedule: Four Days. Ten Hours. Three-Day Weekends.

Monday–Thursday | 3:00 PM–1:30 AM

That’s right: four 10-hour shifts and a three-day weekend every week.

Friday overtime is available when workload requires it and is optional.

You’ll train initially on 1st shift while you learn our equipment, processes, and expectations. Once you’re up to speed, you’ll transition to 2nd shift.

· Blueprint reading and GD&T

· Precision inspection and measurement

· One-off and small-batch production

What We’re Looking For

· CNC machining experience in a job-shop, high-mix/low-volume, or precision manufacturing environment

Experience setting up and operating CNC equipment
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and GD&T
Ability to use precision measuring equipment
Experience with CNC programming or CAM software is a plus
Experience with Hurco, FANUC, Fusion 360, or similar systems is a plus
A willingness to learn, solve problems, and take on increasingly challenging work
A team-oriented attitude and pride in producing quality work
