E.L.I’s House is a Tennessee-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women to transform their lives. Our two-year residential program provides a holistic approach to healing and growth, tailored to meet the unique needs of each woman and her children (ages 9 and younger).

At E.L.I’s House, we focus on helping women become healthier moms and aim for family reunification if custody has been lost. Our program also includes parental coaching and support, fostering a nurturing environment for both mothers and their children.

Position Title: Guest Coordinator - As Required (PRN) minimum of 2 weekend shifts per month

Position Type: Part-Time - Required Shifts: Two (6-hour) weekend shifts / month

Possible Shifts: Additional weekend shifts or evening shifts as desired

Overview

The Guest Coordinator role is responsible to create an environment of trauma based care, compassion, and accountability for our guests families. This is a ministry position to serve our moms and children at Eli’s House as they walk through everyday life, trauma healing, and life-skills development through the Eli’s House program. The Guest Coordinator should be intentional in all relationship building and interactions to blend love and truth in supporting Guests through pre-planned routines, overseeing self-administered medications, and being a supportive resource in crisis situations. This role involves ensuring a safe, orderly, and supportive environment for Guests and adhering to facility guidelines and policies. The Guest Coordinators will work in a supportive, Christ-centered environment dedicated to serving women and children seeking a healthier lifestyle free from abuse and addiction. This role requires a combination of direct interaction with Guests, other staff, and members of the community.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Support:

Be a compassionate voice, listening ear, and accountability source to our guests.
Familiarize yourself with all shift information and case notes provided prior to the beginning of shift.
Oversee guest adherence through pre-planned routines and activities.
Provide close supervision of Guests, including providing positive encouragement and documenting violations and.
Oversee self-administered medications as needed, according to written guidelines.
Transport Guests to events and activities during scheduled shifts.
Conduct chore checks and accountability.
Monitor Guests for changes in behaviors or Guests’ physical or mental health; alert House Manager and/or other staff as appropriate.
Intervene in crisis situations per policy and procedure guidelines.
Respond to Guests in distress in a non-threatening manner, attempting to understand the source of distress.
Apply de-escalation techniques in managing Guests’ emotions and behavior.
Complete shift log at the end of each shift.
Be a welcoming host and the point of contact for all pre-planned volunteer opportunities during the shift.

Facility Maintenance:

Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment by conducting walk-throughs, promptly reporting security or maintenance issues, and carrying out assigned cleaning duties.
On occasion, you may be asked to assist with searches of program participants and/or their belongings.

Administrative Support:

Perform administrative tasks to assist staff.
Welcome all guests and volunteers when the Volunteer Coordinator is not on the property, guiding them as needed.
Follow and properly document all medication distribution protocols, responsibility violations, and during-shift events.

Additional Responsibilities:

Maintain guest confidentiality with other guests as well as those outside of Eli’s House staff.
Attend required training and meetings.
Complete all other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
Adhere to ELI’s House policies, procedures and the Employee Manual.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Deep faith in and abiding walk with Christ, with an understanding of Biblical principles of hope, healing, and redemption.
A growing spiritual life, with a desire to bring honor and glory to the Lord at E.L.I.’s House and beyond.
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and auto insurance (Ability to transport Guests in Eli's House Vehicles).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with women and minor children facing domestic violence, sex trafficking, drug addiction, and various traumas is preferred.
Experience in crisis prevention, intervention, and conflict resolution skills.

Skills and Competencies:

Desire to be excellent in providing care and development of our house Guests with a balance of truth, warmth, and empathy.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships among staff, guests, and volunteers..
Strength in de-escalation techniques and self-regulation.
Ability to receive and provide constructive criticism.
Excellent decision making skills and ability to work under pressure.
Cultural sensitivity in the work environment.
Proficiency with related technologies and programs.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
