Bilingual (English/Spanish) 2nd Shift Assistant Production Supervisor

United Business Mail currently has an opening for a 2nd Shift Bilingual (English/Spanish) Assistant Production Supervisor in our Itasca facility. If you are a results-focused, hands on, experienced and motivated production team lead or supervisor who does what you say you will do, takes care of the customer, strives for the win-win, helps others succeed, has fun, and desires to grow individually and as a company, we would like to hear from you.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Production Supervisor at United Business Mail is responsible for supporting the Shift Supervisor with various tasks while functioning as the point of contact for employees in production. This position will monitor the day-to-day production activities and performance in their assigned area as it pertains to people, processes and equipment.

In collaboration with another Assistant Production Supervisor, this individual will lead and and oversee up to 125 employees by monitoring job performance metrics, and relaying productivity concerns to the Shift Supervisor. Additionally, this role is responsible for focusing on employee’s safety as well as creating and maintaining a workplace culture that engages and motivates associates at all levels. The two Assistant Production Supervisors coordinate schedules to provide coverage for the 2nd Shift from 4:45PM - 3:15AM.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides guidance to team leads and shift employees regarding UBM policies, procedures and processes.
Monitors employee performance and provides feedback to address any issues related to work rule violations or performance deficiencies.
Oversees the department in the absence of the Shift Supervisor.
Collaborates with the other Assistant Supervisor assigned to the shift to meet production objectives.
Works in alignment with the Supervisor to execute the mailings and ensure that processes are properly followed.
Works with the Supervisor to facilitate the training program for Operations personnel and verifies employee capability and development.
Supports the management of Temporary Personnel and ensure that they are properly checked into the building, trained, and properly introduced to UBM Operations.
Supports the execution of an objective performance-based assessment program to facilitate the capability-based pay scale strategy.
Communicates performance results, identify opportunities and celebrate successes.
Conducts verification reviews of quality documentation and mailing paperwork to ensure the process is conducted properly and in alignment with established procedures and requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Team leadership or supervisory experience in a production, distribution or manufacturing process is required
Experience in the mailing industry, manufacturing or warehouse environment utilizing conveyor systems or assembly lines preferred
Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) required
Must be proficient with MS Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
Experience with training personnel and developing front line leaders is highly preferred.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work in a team and independently
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Demonstrated ability to focus/prioritize on multiple opportunities at one time.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude are required.
Ability to work flexible hours as needed
