We are seeking an experienced male ballet instructor to join our faculty and inspire the next generation of dancers.
Full Job Description
The ideal candidate is a positive, knowledgeable educator with strong classical ballet training who enjoys working with children, teens, and pre-professional students. This position includes teaching ballet technique and partnering classes, with possible opportunities to coach variations, repertoire, and assist with productions throughout the season.
Responsibilities
· Teaching private men's class to an emerging young artist.
· Coach male ballet student in jumps, turns, tours, batterie, and men's variations.
· Instruct partnering (pas de deux) classes with an emphasis on safety and proper technique. Able to teach and partner young ballet students.
· Prepare students for performances and Nutcracker production.
· Foster a positive, disciplined, and encouraging classroom environment.
· Communicate professionally with staff and families.
Qualifications
· Professional ballet training; professional performance experience preferred.
· Previous teaching experience with children and teens.
· Strong knowledge of classical ballet technique and partnering.
· Ability to demonstrate technique safely and assist in partnering advanced dancers.
· Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
· Passion for mentoring young dancers.
· Reliable, organized, and professional.
Schedule
· Part-time evenings, specifically Friday 4:00–7:00 pm with possibility of Saturday Advanced Ballet class and Nutcracker rehearsals.
· Approximately 1–2 days per week.
· Weekend rehearsals and performances as scheduled.

Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging ballet instruction with a focus on male technique, partnering skills, and choreography tailored to various skill levels
- Develop comprehensive curriculum plans that incorporate classical ballet principles, creative movement, and performance preparation
- Manage classroom environments effectively, ensuring safety, discipline, and positive student engagement
- Demonstrate and teach partnering techniques, lifts, and ensemble work in line with professional ballet standards
- Collaborate with other dance instructors and arts educators to design interdisciplinary projects and performances
- Provide individualized feedback to students on technique, performance quality, and artistic growth
- Support students’ development in related areas such as musicality, stage presence, and theatrical expression
Requirements
- Proven experience as a ballet dancer with specialization in male technique and partnering skills
- Strong background in choreography, dance instruction, and classroom management within a performing arts setting
- Experience working with children and youth programs; familiarity with early childhood education or preschool experience is a plus
- Knowledge of visual & performing arts education methods; ability to teach dance as well as related arts such as theater or music
- Skills in lesson planning, curriculum development, behavior management, and childhood development principles
- Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds; experience with special education or inclusive teaching is advantageous
- Additional talents such as musical instruments proficiency, photography skills, sewing or culinary experience are considered beneficial but not required
