About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Drywall Technician / Carpenter at our manufacturing facility. The position is responsible for a variety of tasks, including drywall installation, finishing, painting, and general carpentry work to ensure our modular homes meet the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate will possess strong drywall, painting, and carpentry skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering quality craftsmanship in modular home construction. This position is based at our Waynesboro, Pennsylvania facility and reports directly to the Construction Lead.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, patching, sanding, and priming.
- Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Install, repair, tape, mud, sand, and finish drywall.
- Perform general carpentry work, including framing, trim installation, door and window installation, cabinetry, and interior finish work.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to complete assigned tasks accurately.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install wood and other building materials as required.
- Ensure all drywall, carpentry, and finishing work complies with local and national building codes.
- Collaborate with other production team members to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Conduct quality inspections and perform touch-ups or repairs as needed.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other team members when needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a carpentry, drywall, or painting apprenticeship program is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in drywall installation, finishing, painting, and/or residential carpentry.
- Strong knowledge of drywall finishing techniques, painting methods, carpentry practices, and related tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all company safety protocols.
