Full Job Description

Administrative Assistant, Project Succeed (Grant Funded)

Highland Community College is seeking a skilled and motivated Administrative Assistant; Project Succeed to support the daily operations of a federally funded student support program. This full-time position is contingent upon the availability of grant funding and is integral to supporting student success through administrative excellence and program coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Gather, enter, and update information in databases for reports and other documents.
Generate necessary forms and maintain records and files.
Provide administrative support, including preparing correspondence and other written documents.
Respond to inquiries and complaints, and determine appropriate resolutions.
Schedule and prepare for meetings, manage mail, appointments, and calendar.
Create and distribute the departmental newsletter, including editing, publishing, and printing.
Order and maintain inventory of office supplies; process purchase orders and invoices.
Prepare and process financial documents, including check requests, travel and expense reports.
Inform program students of events, meetings, and schedule changes.
Participate in committees or employee work groups, as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

Education and Experience:

High school diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
Two years of office experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills.

Skills and Knowledge:

Understanding of office administration principles and practices.
Proficiency with office equipment, computer operations, and Microsoft Office.
Ability to prepare and format reports, maintain records, and handle data with confidentiality.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and compose professional documents.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff.

Salary Range: $17.57 - $26.35 per hour
