Position Overview

The Senior Tax Accountant works directly with clients and is responsible for managing their tax compliance needs. This role includes preparing and reviewing complex individual, business, and trust tax returns, providing tax planning services, and delivering exceptional client service in a deadline-driven environment.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with individual taxation, has managed client relationships throughout the tax process, and is highly organized in tracking priorities and deadlines. Our clients include high-net-worth individuals and business owners who expect outstanding service, responsiveness, and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review complex individual, business, and trust tax returns, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely filing.
Manage tax compliance engagements from start to finish.
Develop and implement tax planning strategies for clients.
Communicate directly with clients regarding tax matters, planning opportunities, and compliance requirements.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and responsiveness.
Track deliverables, deadlines, and client requests proactively.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of tax engagements.
Collaborate with team members in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Required Qualifications

CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential required.
Minimum of 5 years of tax experience.
Extensive experience preparing and reviewing individual tax returns.
Experience working directly with clients and managing engagements independently.
Experience serving high-net-worth individuals and families.
Experience supporting and representing clients in federal and state tax audits.
Experience with multi-state taxation and related compliance requirements.
Strong expertise in tax compliance and tax planning.
Strong tax research skills with the ability to analyze complex tax issues and apply federal and state tax laws to client situations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
U.S. work authorization required.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Experience preparing trust and gift tax returns.
Proficiency with Lacerte Tax Software is strongly preferred.
